Head-to-head, one turn at a time
Grida is a two-player duel at heart. You and your opponent share the same letter grid and alternate turns, so the board you build is the board you both have to play on. On each turn you drop a single letter onto an empty cell that touches a letter already placed, then trace a path through connected cells to spell a word that uses your new letter. Every letter you add opens fresh paths - and closes off others - so the match becomes a back-and-forth battle for the best spots on the grid.
Play online or pass and play
There are two easy ways to face off. Play online by creating a game and sharing the invite link with a friend - tap it and you both drop straight into the same match from separate devices, with every move syncing in real time. Or keep it simple and pass and play on one device, handing the phone or tablet back and forth between turns. Either way there is nothing to download and no account required. Want more than two at the table? You can play the word game with friends in rooms of up to four, or just play a word game online whenever you like.
Scoring by word length
Scoring keeps things tense for both players. You earn points equal to the length of each word you claim, so a 6-letter word is worth twice a 3-letter one. That reward for longer words turns the shared grid into a constant trade-off: grab a quick word now, or set up a longer one and risk your opponent stealing the cells first. When the grid is full, the higher score wins. Pick a small 3x3 or 5x5 board for a fast duel, or a roomier 7x7 or 9x9 grid when you want longer words and longer games.
